Action photography is not for the faint hearted, there’s often no second chance and you need to know your subject to anticipate that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Whether it’s motorsport, horse-racing or the children’s sports day, there is huge satisfaction in freezing the action and catching a split-second moment in time.
Expensive lenses and “Access All Areas” passes are not a pre-requisite.
Action photography immediately conjures up images of long telephoto lenses and press photographers with special access but there’s more to it than that and with a little training and some practice you can master the techniques required to produce the sort of pictures you’ll be proud of.
