Red Dog Photography School provides photographers from novice to expert with live workshops over one, two and three days, twelve month programs and a load of advice, tips, tutorials and one-to-one training, to help them develop their creative and technical skills, get the most out of their camera and discover what they are capable of with the right support.
I’m Duncan Robb and I run the photo school, this is me at a very early age with my first camera. Over the years I have built up a wealth of experience and photographic expertise that I now delight in passing on to others.
I set up Red Dog Photography in 2004, working with businesses to create images for promotion and display and also working with the media to provide pictures to publicise and illustrate.
The move into training and the creation of the photography school came in response to requests from clients and contacts who wanted to explore the capabilities of their cameras and discover what they could produce when they made the time to learn and had expert advice on hand to find solutions that worked for them.
I have never lost my love for photography or my curiosity to experiment with new ideas and techniques and I get huge satisfaction from seeing my students experience those ‘light bulb‘ moments when it all falls into place. After all, photography should be fun, you’re creating memories as well as great pictures and you should be enjoying the process.
Training is based in the quintessential picture-postcard village of Osmaston in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. From our base in Sunshine Barn we have access to some of the most photogenic scenery in the UK as well as having all the resources on hand to teach the theory and practice of creating great images.
